Laurent Tissot is professor of contemporary history at the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. He is president of the Swiss Economic and Social History Society, treasurer of the International Congress of Historical Sciences and member of the Swiss National Research Council.
His main themes of research are: History of transport and tourism, history of sports, history of industrialization (business history, regional history). Relevant books include "E.Paillard & Cie, SA.
